A Friendly Smile

Everything’s gone wrong today.

No one reacts to anything you say.

No matter how much you scream and cry,

The world seems to be passing you by.

No one seems to notice or care,

That you’re trying to be heard over your despair.

But on one face a smile shines through

A smile that knows and cares about you.

A smile with love to lend

One a face you can recognize only as a friend.

Little Snowflake

Little snowflake, you are a sight to see,

You make my heart skip with joy and glee.

I like to watch you swirl and twirl and go round & round,

Until you come to rest gently upon the ground.

Little snowflake, I’m glad you came to visit us today.

Because of you, my friends & I got to go outside and play.

We rode a sled down a snow-covered hill,

And you could hear much laughter which was loud and shrill.

Please come to visit us again soon Little Snowflake.

Until then, into my memory, visions of your beauty I’ll take.
